Actor Van Vicker, has taken to social media to congratulate the President, John Mahama for the recent strong showing of the Ghanaian currency, Cedi, against the US dollar.
In a Facebook post, he expressed his admiration for the currency’s remarkable appreciation.
“Mr. president, I must congratulate you on the strengthening of the Ghana cedi on the world market, ayekoo,” he posted.
The actor noted that the cedi’s surge from approximately GH¢17 to $1 few months ago to around GH¢11 to $1 currently, is a notable achievement.
He acknowledged various theories about the reasons behind the cedi’s appreciation but emphasized the positive impact on the country.
Van Vicker also criticized some Ghanaians living abroad who expressed discontent due the dollar’s drop against the cedi.
“Regrettably some Ghanaians living abroad are not enthused because the dollar has dropped against the Cedi, how narcissistic can one be,” he questioned.
He praised the President’s efforts, saying, “If you can take us back to 2007, heerrrh like e go be ‘kerker’.”
