The leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has met with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health to discuss issues surrounding the ongoing strike by its members.

The meeting, held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, comes in the wake of nationwide industrial action that has disrupted healthcare delivery across the country. The strike, which has entered a critical stage, has left many public healthcare facilities struggling to provide services.

According to the GRNMA, the engagement with the Committee was productive and focused on the concerns raised by nurses and midwives regarding their conditions of service.

“We appreciate the Committee’s time and engagement on the pressing matters affecting nurses, midwives, and the ongoing industrial action,” the Association stated in a post cited on its official Facebook page.

GRNMA leadership emphasized that the Association remains dedicated to peaceful dialogue and internal procedures.

“As a professional association, we remain committed to due process and internal consultation,” the statement added.
