The ongoing investigations into the alleged corruption scandal and mismanagement at the National Service Authority (NSA) under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, must be pursued to their logical conclusion, Godwin Ako Gunn stated.
Speaking on the matter on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, on the Angel Morning Show, the Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Ako Gunn, says Ghanaians seek transparency in the matter.
Mr. Ako Gunn’s call comes at the time when 12 former officials of the National Service Authority (NSA) are under investigation for their alleged involvement in a payroll fraud scheme that has reportedly cost the state over GH¢548 million.
The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, who made this announcement during a press conference held in Accra on Friday, June 13, 2025, said investigations into the matter have been completed, and the individuals in question will soon be formally charged for their roles in the matter.
Among those to be charged are senior officials who previously held key leadership roles at the Authority, including: Mustapha Ussif, former Executive Director, Osei Assibey Antwi, former Director General, Gifty Oware-Mensah, and former Deputy Executive Director, Kweku Ohene Gyan, among others.
Speaking to the subject, Mr. Ako Gunn demanded a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover the full extent of the scandal and identify those responsible.
“We need a transparent and proper investigation. If President John Dramani Mahama could sacrifice his own friend Mr. Abuga Pele on corruption and nepotism, then nobody is above the law,” he asserted.
Mr. Ako Gunn highlighting the government’s commitment in running a corruption-free administration said those found guilty after investigations “must face the full force of the law.”
