July 4th declared public holiday

The Ministry of Interior announced Friday, July 4, 2025, as a public holiday nationwide, an official communique confirmed.

A Thursday, June 26, release said that, as Tuesday, July 1, marks Republic Day, the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, has officially declared Friday, July 4, as a public holiday through an Executive Instrument (E.I).

According to the release, the declaration is in line with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2021 (Act 601).

“However, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2021 (Act 601) has declared Friday, 4th July, 2025 as a Public Holiday.”

The release, signed by Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak encourage general public encouraged to observe it as such throughout the country.
