The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Jomoro Constituency has lauded the appointment of its Member of Parliament, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, as Deputy Minister-designate for Transport, describing it as a triumph for grassroots leadership and representation.

In a statement issued by the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC), the party expressed confidence in the MP’s ability to deliver inclusive leadership, innovation and integrity in her new role.

“This appointment is a resounding affirmation of Hon. Affo-Toffey’s unwavering commitment, tireless service, and distinguished leadership within both the constituency and the broader party structure,” the statement said.

The MP was praised for her advocacy work and bold representation in Parliament, which the party believes have made her “a pillar of strength and a beacon of hope for many.”

The CEC also thanked President John Dramani Mahama, for acknowledging their MPs contribution to national development.

“The CEC also conveys its profound gratitude to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama… for entrusting her with this significant national responsibility,” the statement noted.

Describing the nomination as “a collective honour for the people of Jomoro and the Western Region at large,” the party pledged full support for Madam Affo-Toffey as she prepares to assume the ministerial role.
