Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has lauded the national women’s football team following their triumphant win over Algeria to reach the semi-finals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

She described the team’s victory as “remarkable” and highlighted their reputation in women’s football on the continent.

“A big congratulations to our Black Queens for their remarkable victory over Algeria to secure a spot in the Women’s AFCON semi-finals.”

Ahead of the crucial semi-final clash with host nation Morocco, the Vice President admonished the Queens to continue raising Ghana’s flag high, assuring them of the general public’s unwavering support.
