Jubilee House hosts Black Queens, President pledges improved conditions for women’s football

Black Queens visit Parliament, receive heroines’ applause

Black Queens continued their celebratory homecoming with a visit to the Jubilee House – Ghana’s office of the Presidency on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

The team were warmly received by President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.

CAF 2nd Vice President and GFA President Kurt Okraku, Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, and other top officials were leaders of delegation for the team.

The team was commended for their discipline, determination, and for proudly representing Ghana on the African stage.

President Mahama praised the Queens for their footballing excellence and for inspiring a new generation of girls.

“The Black Queens have shown us what is possible when hard work, vision, and belief come together. Your achievement is a national one, and we are proud of each of you. This medal is only the beginning,” he said.

“With support and the right structures, I believe you will bring home a higher medal and the ultimate trophy.”

The Presidency assured the team of the government’s commitment to improving conditions for women in sports, hinting at new policy directions and resource allocations to support female athletes.

The visit included a meet-and-greet session, photo opportunities, and a symbolic cash presentation to the team from the President and Vice President.

The Black Queens continue to receive accolades for bringing glory to the nation and highlighting the future of women’s football in Ghana.
