Black Queens midfielder, Jennifer Cudjoe, has recounted the impact former coach and Swiss tactician, Nora Häuptle’s departure had on the team.

Reflecting on Häuptle’s exit to take over the Zambia women’s national team, Cudjoe acknowledged the emotional gap left behind, describing it as a difficult period for the players.

“As a player, you go through different types of coaching, and you have a different bond with coaches. Every coach makes an impact in your life, so she definitely made an impact in my life and the rest of the players. It was tough, but we still had to find a way to keep working and focusing on the goals,” she said in an interview.

She praised Häuptle’s tactical expertise and described her as one of the best coaches she had worked with.

“She was one of the best coaches we had. She changed the game for us, the way she managed players and how we played. But I also think it was time for her to go. She went, but she’s still one of the coaches I loved playing under.”

Jennifer Cudjoe was part of the Black Queens team that placed third at the recently concluded 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), securing a bronze medal.
