The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced, the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League competition (WPL) is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 31, 2025, across the Northern and Southern zones.

According to the GFA, the new season kick starts on the weekend of October 31 to November 3, 2025 , and end on the weekend of April 24-27, 2026 .

The league features 20 elite clubs divided into Northern and Southern Zones, each with 10 teams.

Defending champions Police Ladies will return to defend their crown after a stellar 2024/25 campaign.

However, they face a daunting challenge from powerhouse Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who are eager to reclaim their former glory.

Newly promoted teams include Northern City Ladies FC and Ashtown Ladies in the Northern Zone,  and Oak Ladies and Samartex Ladies in the Southern Zone.

With strong support from Malta Guinness and partners like Nasco Electronics, the league promises to deliver thrilling matches, fierce rivalries, and outstanding talent.
