The Western Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for four suspected armed robbers following a violent robbery at Teleku Bokazo in the Western Region.

According to a release from the Public Affairs Unit, the Esiama Police, responded to a distress call on July 30, 2025, at around 5:30 p.m., reporting an attack on a gold-buying shop by armed men wielding AK-47 rifles and machetes.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that six robbers had fled towards the nearby Salman Community.

A police pursuit ensued, resulting in an exchange of gunfire during which one of the suspects, identified as Abdul Rahman, 34, sustained serious injuries.

He was transported to the St. Martin De Porres Hospital at Ekwie but died shortly after arrival. His body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the robbers stormed the shop and inflicted gunshot and cutlass wounds on two attendants.

Police later visited the hospital where they met one of the victims, Samuel Appiah, 29, who had suffered cutlass injuries to his right thigh. The second victim, Kwame Nketiah, 45, remains on admission.
