Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) are expected to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony today, August 8, 2025, in memory of the eight persons who lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash.
A statement issued by the GJA indicates that their decision follows the directive by the Presidency as part its plans to honour the memory of the departed souls.
GJA said they will converge at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra at exactly 10:30 a.m. before proceeding to the Jubilee House Ceremonial Gardens for the solemn tributes.
“Members of the GJA and the media fraternity are welcome to join the National Executive for this remembrance,” the statement said.
Participants have been advised to observe the dress code, which is black attire.
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the Presidency hosted a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Jubilee House Ceremonial Gardens to honour the eight individuals who died while in service.
The event marked the first day of a three-day national mourning period declared by the government in remembrance of the departed souls.
Other institutions and organizations are expected to join the GJA in laying their wreaths within the stipulated period.
