The University of Ghana Sports Complex in Legon, Accra, has been selected as the venue for the one-week observation of the passing of legendary Ghanaian musician, Daddy Lumba, Angelonline understands.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, serving as a major memorial that provides a platform for collective mourning and celebration.

This comes after Abusuapanin of the deceased’s family last week confirmed that the funeral rites for the legendary musician will be held in Kumasi, his hometown.

The specific dates for the funeral are expected to be announced during the one-week observation ceremony.

Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, leaving behind a rich legacy as one of Ghana’s most influential and celebrated hilife and contemporary musicians. His passing plunged the nation into deep mourning, with widespread tributes pouring in from all sectors of society.

The entertainment industry, political circles, philanthropists, the football community, and even the diplomatic corps, including the German Embassy in Ghana, have all expressed their condolences and shared heartfelt memories of the icon’s profound impact.
