A Nigerian national in his 30s has been arrested and detained at the Awutu Breku District Police Command for allegedly raping a 15 year old girl in the bush at Nkwantanan Teachers City, located in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

According to the victim’s mother, Cecilia Krampa, the suspect kidnapped her daughter while she was returning home with her younger sister after accompanying a friend.

“My daughter is learning seamstress, and her senior visited her. After she saw her off and was returning home with her little sister, the suspect dragged her into the bush, covered her mouth, pulled a knife on her, and slept with her in the bush,” she explained.

The harrowing incident was compounded when the victim’s younger sister managed to escape from the assailant.

In a desperate bid for help, she sought assistance from an okada rider. However, the suspect fled the scene before they could arrive.

Following the incident, the victim’s mother reported that the suspect escaped from the community.

However, it was only through the collaborative efforts of the Gomoa Buduburam Electoral Area Assemblyman and several local youths that the suspect was located and apprehended.
