NPP’s value diminished, no incentives for Alan to rejoin – Henry Asante

A Communications Team Member for the Movement for Change (MfC), Henry Asante, has launched a scathing critique of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following its recent announcement of amnesty for former members contemplating a return to the party.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, hosted by Ohemaa Sakyiwaa, Mr. Asante expressed his views candidly, asserting that the NPP has irrevocably lost its allure and value.

He emphatically stated, “If Alan Kyerematen is your target, then forget it; it will not work. The NPP is no longer capable of winning elections.” This declaration underscores a growing sentiment that the party’s appeal has significantly waned.

Mr. Asante elaborated on his concerns, noting that the NPP has strayed from its foundational culture and norms.

He observed that the party has become increasingly unpopular, with its members seemingly reluctant to engage in discussions about its future.

Furthermore, he described the proposed amnesty as fundamentally hollow, particularly highlighting the stipulation that returning members must wait two years before they can contest for any position.

He regarded this condition as unfair, arguing that it serves as an indirect method of sidelining influential figures like Alan Kyerematen.
