Asante Kotoko, Gold Stars set for thrilling GHALCA Top 4 opener

The 2025 edition of the GHALCA Top Four Tournament kicks off on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, promising football fans an exciting round of fixtures to light up the off-season.

In the tournament opener, newly crowned Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani Gold Stars will face giants Asante Kotoko at 3:00 p.m. local time (15:00 GMT).

Later in the evening, Accra Hearts of Oak will clash with league runners-up Heart of Lions at 6:00 p.m. (18:00 GMT) in what is expected to be a highly competitive encounter.

The competition continues on Friday, August 22, 2025, with Gold Stars taking on Hearts of Oak in the first fixture of the day, before Heart of Lions lock horns with Asante Kotoko in the second match of the round.

The final matchday comes off on Sunday, August 24, 2025, when Gold Stars will meet Heart of Lions, while rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will close the tournament in a much-anticipated showdown that promises fireworks.

According to GHALCA, this year’s tournament will be played in an all-play-all format, with the winner determined by the team that amasses the highest points.

The tournament carries extra significance as it serves as vital preparation for Asante Kotoko and Gold Stars, both of whom are set to represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF Inter-club Competitions.
