The husband of award winning gospel musician, Empress Gifty, has expressed disappointment in some of the gospel musicians after his wife’s recent win at the Ghana Music Awards (Awards).
In a viral video, he criticized fellow gospel musicians for failing to publicly congratulate Empress Gifty after her remarkable achievement, suggesting that envy may be at play within the industry.
“Are your colleagues in the gospel music industry not happy about your breakthrough? Because with secular musicians, they congratulate each other they post it on their platforms to celebrate the win,” he said.
He further reminded his wife’s colleague to treat others the way they would want to be treated.
“Why are the gospel musicians not happy about it? Do unto others what you want others to do unto you,’” he added.
According to Hopeson, the voting process, Empress Gifty worked hard for her victory.
“When someone wins an award, some of you think your artiste deserves it better. But meanwhile, you did not vote. Empress was campaigning for herself, she noted it publicly that she was in a competition and needed votes,” he explained.
