The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced detailed arrangements for its upcoming parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency.

The incumbent party said the release of the roadmap has become important ahead of the anticipated by-election in the Northern Region.

In a press release issued by the party’s National Secretariat on August 20, 2025, the NDC outlined procedures for nomination, filing fees, and campaign conduct, urging all aspirants and stakeholders to adhere strictly to the guidelines.

According to the party, nomination forms are to be collected and submitted at the party’s Northern Regional Office, for which a non-refundable fee of GHC5,000 is required upon collection of the forms.

Aspirants are also expected to pay a filing fee of GHC40,000, which must be deposited in cash into the party’s designated account.

The party has granted a 50% concession on the filing fee for female aspirants and persons living with disabilities, in line with its commitment to inclusive representation.

The release, signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey called on aspirants to conduct their campaigns with unity, and fairness while assuring all activities is conducted within the stipulated time frame.

“The Party urges all prospective aspirants and stakeholders to ensure strict compliance with these directives and to conduct their campaigns and related activities with decorum, unity, and fairness,” it said.

The Tamale Central by-election follows the vacancy of the parliamentary seat following the demise of the late Environment and Science minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, one of the victims of the helicopter crash.
