Ahead of the Akwatia by-election, some bigwigs within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, August 23, 2025, visited the Oseawuo Division within the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional State, Eastern Region to introduce its candidate.
The delegation, headed by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, featured key party figures including National Youth Organizer George Opare Addo, former National Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Ambassador Victor Smith, and other high-ranking officials.
Their visit aimed to officially present Bernard Bediako Baidoo Esq., the NDC’s parliamentary hopeful for the upcoming Akwatia by-election, to Daasebre Dr. Assumadu Nyarko Appiah, the Chief of Akyem Wenchi, along with other traditional authorities in the area.
This comes on the back of intensifying their campaign efforts in the Akwatia constituency as the eagerly awaited by-election approaches on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
