Berekum West MP launches fund to support talented yet underprivileged students

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere Stugard, has officially launched an education fund designed to assist students in his constituency in their quest for tertiary education.

At the inaugural ceremony in Jinijini, Mr Kyere Stugard expressed his deep concerns about the various obstacles facing education in Berekum West. He pointed out the financial burdens that prevent numerous students from progressing to higher education.

In light of these challenges, he has initiated the education fund to support academically promising but economically disadvantaged students.

This initiative aims to ease their path towards higher education and contribute to the overall development of human resources in the constituency.

He explained that the fund is projected to receive GHC 5 million each year, aimed at alleviating the financial struggles faced by students who find it difficult to continue their studies due to economic limitations.

“Every year if nothing at all, we will leave 5 million in the account and when we get such amount we’ll use it to support students from Senior High Schools, Universities, nursing training and training colleges to help them.

“This is the main reason why we’re meeting today. First of all, let’s look at how to support our children’s future to make them successful,” he assured.
