President John Dramani Mahama has charged newly appointed High Commissioners and Ambassadors to project Ghana as a hub of opportunity by promoting tourism, investment, and economic partnerships abroad.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the envoys at the Presidency on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the President underscored the need for Ghana’s missions to adapt to global changes and play a central role in advancing the nation’s economic interests.

“Our foreign policy has always been anchored on enduring principles, Pan-Africanism, peaceful coexistence, self-determination, and the pursuit of justice and equity in world affairs. Yet today’s world demands diplomacy that is also agile, innovative, and purposeful,” President Mahama said.

He emphasized that Ghana must not only respond to global shifts in geopolitics, economics, and technology but also shape them in ways that benefit its citizens.

“I therefore expect you to be vanguards of Ghana’s economic diplomacy. Let your missions become dynamic hubs of export promotion, investment attraction, tourism marketing, innovative change, and diaspora mobilization,” he told the diplomats.

According to the President, the envoys have a duty to showcase Ghana not only as a beacon of democracy and stability but also as a country that is open for business, embracing technology, and committed to building partnerships that deliver prosperity for the youth and dignity for the working class.
