The Minister of Communications, Sam George has announced that enforcement action against MultiChoice Ghana will commence, Saturday, September 6, 2025, following a breakdown in negotiations over DStv pricing.

Mr. George expressed frustration over the standoff, particularly meaningful dialogue regarding price reductions, and stated categorically that his office can longer entertain the lack of respect from MultiChoice.

“Let me be clear, I have no intention to continue tolerating the disrespect to Ghanaians by DStv.

“If MultiChoice is not interested as they claim in their last statement, in discussing a reduction in prices as they had indicated to me, we would proceed to effect the shutdown tomorrow as indicated,” he declared in a direct response to the company on Facebook.

The MP emphasized that no company is above the law and reaffirmed that the National Communications Authority Ghana would carry out the enforcement.

“When MultiChoice is ready to discuss price reduction, they can come to the negotiation table. Until then, there is nothing for us to meet over,” he added.

The firebrand minister reiterated that Ghana is open to businesses that respect national laws and institutions.
