Two individuals feared dead following a collision between a Mercedes Benz (registration AS 4146-25) and a Hino truck (GW 5958-25) on the Accra–Cape Coast Highway near Kormantse in the Central Region.

The tragic road crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday, September 6, 2025.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Public Relations, the Mankessim Fire Rescue Team responded swiftly to the incident at approximately 3:50 a.m.

GNFS noted that upon arrival, they found several occupants had already been assisted out of the wreckage by passersby.

However, two individuals remained trapped inside the vehicles and were later extricated by the rescue team of the GNFS.

“Two trapped individuals are suspected to have died,” the statement said.

However, emergency responders, in collaboration with other stakeholders, worked diligently to clear the debris and restore traffic flow along the busy highway.
