The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially reopened the application process for the 2025 teacher promotion exercise.

In a notice dated Thursday, September 11, 2025, the GES announced that qualified serving teachers and officers are invited to apply for promotion to the various ranks.

They are Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent.

According to the Service, applicants must meet the stipulated criteria, including having attained their current rank on or before 2021 and having served continuously at post since that date, excluding approved leave periods.

Teachers relying on Master’s or Doctorate degrees for promotion must ensure the qualification is approved by GES, was obtained before their last promotion, and is not being used for multiple promotions.

Also, applications are to be submitted online via the designated portal between “Thursday, 11th September and Thursday, 2nd October 2025.”

Required documents include a passport photograph, last promotion letter, upgrading letter, highest academic certificate, and previous promotion certificate, all in PDF format.
