The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has extended a goodwill message to all clubs participating in the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, which officially commences on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Mr. Okraku described the upcoming season as “unique and historic,” citing the introduction of unprecedented direct financial support to all GPL clubs and the availability of a record prize money pool of GHC 9.5 million.

These measures, he noted, are aimed at strengthening the league, elevating standards, and fostering a vibrant and competitive football environment.

“I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all our participating clubs.

“This season marks the beginning of the GPL revolution,” the GFA President declared, emphasizing the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure the success of the campaign.

He called on clubs, players, officials, supporters, and partners to contribute their quota in making the 2025/2026 season a landmark moment in Ghanaian football.

The message stressed with a rallying call for unity and progress, positioning the Ghana Premier League as a source of national pride and a rising force on the African continent.

The season kickoff at the Accra Sports Stadium at 7:00 PM when Accra Hearts of Oak face Hohoe United.
