Chief of Viisey seeks gov’t development through support
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Chief of Viisey in the Funsi District of the Upper West Region, Naa Alhaji Ganiu Abdulai III, has appealed to government for urgent support towards the development of his community, describing it as one of the most deprived in the district.

In a statement addressed to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the Chief extended warm greetings from the people of Viisey and outlined several pressing challenges facing the community.

He noted that despite the residents’ hard work as farmers and traders contributing to local food production, their efforts are hindered by a lack of basic infrastructure and social amenities.

According to the Chief, poor road networks continue to make the transportation of farm produce difficult, while the absence of access to clean water negatively impacts the health and well-being of the people.

He further mentioned the inadequacy of school facilities and limited access to healthcare services as major obstacles to the community’s progress.

Naa Alhaji Ganiu Abdulai III appealed for government intervention in key areas including the rehabilitation of feeder roads, provision of boreholes or small-town water systems, construction or renovation of classroom blocks, and support for community-based health initiatives and rural electrification.

He assured government of the community’s full cooperation, stating that the people of Viisey are ready to provide communal labor and local support to ensure the success of any projects implemented.
