Ghana’s Black Stars have officially secured their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking their fifth appearance in the tournament’s history.

The team clinched their spot with a narrow 1-0 victory over Comoros in their final group match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Mohammed Kudus scored the decisive goal in the 47th minute, tapping home a pass from Thomas Partey, which ignited jubilant celebrations throughout the stadium.

This win capped off a dominant qualification campaign for Ghana, who topped Group I with an impressive 25 points from 10 matches.

This qualification marks a significant milestone for the country’s football team, which has a rich history in the sport.

The Black Stars have previously participated in the World Cup in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022, with their best finish being the quarter-finals in 2010.

Ghana will now await the FIFA World Cup 26 Final Draw, scheduled for December 5, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
