The Northern Development Authority (NDA) has announced the transfer of all Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Projects (IPEP), under the One Million Dollars per Constituency initiative, to the respective District Assemblies.

This directive, issued by the government, is intended to strengthen decentralization and improve the effective implementation and management of community infrastructure projects at the local level.

According to a press release issued by the NDA, the transfer includes both completed and uncompleted IPEP projects.

The Authority said it will work closely with the five Regional Coordinating Councils in Northern Ghana to ensure a smooth handover process to the District Assemblies.

The NDA emphasized that transition arrangements may require further direction and technical support from the Authority as needed.

The statement signed by the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the NDA emphasis the significant shift in the management of constituency-level development projects, aligning with broader efforts to empower local governance structures.
