Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Krobea Asante, is calling for immediate action against the military officer who reportedly assaulted a pharmacist and a customer at Burma Camp.

Mr. Asante suggested that the accused should be prosecuted promptly to face the full rigors of the law.

The officer, seen in a viral video assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer on Thursday, October 29, 2025, at Burma Camp, according to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), has been arrested.

Reacting to the development on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, October 30, 2025, he emphasized that the military officer must face legal action to serve as a deterrent to others.

“He must be punished severely to serve as a deterrent to like-minded persons who also abuse people,” Mr. Krobea said.

He further stressed that since the officer is a staff member at the Jubilee House, the authorities should inform the public about what actions they’ve taken on the issue.

Mr. Krobea questioned what background checks were conducted before the officer was allowed to work as a military staff member at the Jubilee House.
