NPP Deputy Communications Director condemns Military Officer’s misconduct

The Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Krobea Asante, has condemned the actions of a military officer who assaulted a pharmacist and a lady at a pharmacy shop in Burma Camp.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, October 30, 2025, he expressed disbelief at the reasons behind the military officer’s misconduct. “Why would a military officer do such a thing?” he questioned.

Mr Asante further emphasised the need for respect towards women, whom he described as the consolers of the nation. “I do not engage in improper conduct with women because, in a way, women console the country, and therefore, there should be enough respect shown to them,” he stated firmly.

He condemned the military officer’s conduct as a disgrace to Jubilee House, highlighting that the officer holds a special level of trust and credibility.

“He has disgraced the Jubilee House because it holds a kind of trust and credibility,” Asante stated.

Referencing the Bible, Mr Asante remarked, “We are entitled to get angry, but the Bible said let’s not let the sun fall on your anger.”

He warned that the officer’s actions must not be overlooked, asserting that thorough investigations need to be conducted to confirm the officer’s true status and to ensure proper justice.

“We should do a background investigation of the military officer to check whether he is truly an officer,” he urged.

He appealed for sincere punishment to act as a deterrent to other officers who might consider similar misconduct.

“This person must be punished sincerely to serve as a deterrent to like-minded officers,” he said.
