Former CPP flagbearer George Agudey summoned by court for failing to submit SSNIT contributions report

The Chief Executive Officer of Gocrest Security Limited, George Oposika Agudey has been summoned by the District court failing to submit Social Security contribution reports contrary to Sections 83 (1)(d)(L) of the National Pensions Act, 2008 (ACT 766) as amended by section 7 of the National Pensions Act (Amendment) Act, 2014 (Act 883).

The District court directed a substituted service on the Mr. Agudey, a former flagbearer for the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the lead up to the 2004 presidential election, after the prosecutor for SSNIT, Fred Antwi Boasiako prayed it to grant him an order for a substituted service, which the court granted.

The businessman and politician is in court on two charges of failing to produce documents relating to appointments attendance, wages and contributions to the Trust and failing to submit Social security contributions report.

Documents cited by Angel News indicate that for the period November 2024 to August 2025, Mr. Agudey “failed to produce documents relating to appointments attendance, wages and contributions of workers to the Trust contrary to Sections 83 (1) (I) & 91 (3) of the National Pensions Act, 2008, (Act 766) as amended by Section 8 of the National Pensions (Amendment) Act, 2014 (Act 883) and also as at July 2025 at Accra in the Greater Accra Region and within the jurisdiction of this court, being the Director of Gocrest Security Limited and the Establishment (Gocrest Security Limited) did fail without reasonable excuse to produce documents relating to appointments attendance, wages/salaries and contributions of workers to the Trust upon request which failure constitutes an offence under the above mentioned provisions of the Act.”

For the period November 2024 to August 2025, Mr Agudey and his company failed to submit SSNIT contribution reports contrary to Sections 83(1)(d)(f) and Section 63(7) of the National Pensions Act of 2008 (Act 766) and its Amendments (Act 833).

They also failed to produce documents relating to appointments attendance, wages/salaries upon several requests.

In view of this, the accused persons were served with criminal summons to appear before the court to answer the charges preferred against them.

The trial Magistrate, Nancy A. Adade granted the prayer of the substituted service by the prosecutor.
