The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has joined the football fraternity in mourning the loss of a promising young footballer in the Western Region.

The deceased, Ignatius Bosompem, tragically passed away after collapsing during a Division Two League match in the region between Young Madrid FC and Naajo Royals FC.

In a statement, the GFA expressed its deepest condolences to Young Madrid FC, the bereaved club, and the family of the young footballer.

“The President, the Executive Council and the General Secretary, together with the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA), join the entire football fraternity in mourning the loss of this promising talent.”

The GFA also expressed its support to the bereaved families, stating that it stands firmly with them during this difficult period.

According to the statement, the association remains in close contact with the WRFA leadership to provide the necessary support and assistance following the unfortunate incident.

The GFA further urged the football community to keep the family and all those affected in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this painful time.
