The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaian youth to embrace the national apprenticeship programme to equip themselves, enhance their skills, and prepare them for the workforce.

Addressing the Ghana Muslims Mission on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, he  said “I urge organizations like yours to take advantage of programs such as the adwumawura program, the national apprenticeship program, and the million coders Program. These initiatives aim to equip our young people with the skills necessary to enter the workforce.

Additionally, President Mahama highlighted the poultry revitalization program, which aims to support families by providing 50 broilers each for nursing and selling, thus enabling them to generate income.

“We are rolling out programs like the poultry revitalization program, where we are giving families 50 broilers. We hope that many of our communities will take advantage of these initiatives,” he said.

He stated that his vision focuses on targeting deprived communities with social interventions that encompass not only education but also skill-building and income generation.

He reinforced the goal of the national apprenticeship programme, urging organizations to specifically engage with these underserved areas.

“With the national apprenticeship program, we’ve asked the organizations involved to focus on deprived communities, particularly among the Muslim population,” he highlighted.
