The Police has arrested a suspect in connection with false claims related to illegal mining (galamsey) activities.

The arrest was made following a petition submitted by Mr. Daniel Sasu Omari and two others on behalf of the Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers.

According to a press release issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the suspect, identified as Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah, was taken into custody to assist with the investigation.

The suspect is expected to appear before court on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
