The Chief Executive Officer of Royal Natural Health and Wellness Clinic, Dr. Idun Essel, has urged both men and women to check their sugar levels regularly.

Speaking at the 2nd edition of “A Walk with an Angel” on Saturday, November 29, 2025, which was also used to create awareness on diabetes, Dr. Essel emphasized the importance of prioritising and monitoring one’s health before waiting to get screened during events.

“Do not wait for a program like this to check your blood pressure and sugar levels; at the very least, check monthly,” he advised.

He highlighted that men in particular should keep an eye on their sugar levels, as elevated levels can negatively impact their sexual health and fertility.

“When your sugar level rises, it has a significant effect on your sexual functioning and child-bearing capabilities,” he stated.

He also cautioned women against waiting until pregnancy to discover potential diabetes, as this can complicate their treatment.

“It’s crucial to be proactive about your health,” he added.
