The Amasaman Circuit Court has handed down a 17-year prison sentence to two individuals convicted of armed robbery in the Agbazo community, a suburb near Golden Exotic Farm in Accra.

According to a statement by the Ghana Police Service’s (GPS) Regional Public Affairs Unit on Saturday, November 29, 2025, Lawrence Fumato (28years), alias Rasta, and Daniel Dzoka (20years), alias Alkaline, were found guilty of conspiring to commit robbery.

The incident occurred on November 12, when the pair attacked two victims using a pair of scissors, stealing a Royal 150 motorbike, a Samsung mobile phone, a Tecno Spark 8 phone, an itel keypad phone, and GH₵4,000 in cash.

The police revealed that the suspects were arrested on Monday, November 17, following intelligence-led operations in Agbazo.

They pleaded guilty to charges under Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), before the Amasaman Circuit Court on November 27.

Both convicts received 17-year sentences to run concurrently.

The Accra Regional Police Command further commended community cooperation in the case and encouraged citizens to continue supporting police efforts by reporting criminal activities via emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
