President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has extended heartfelt congratulations to the fellow President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto’o Fils, following his re-election.

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the General Assembly, the four-time African Footballer of the Year received massive endorsement from members of FECAFOOT as he had 85 out of 87 votes to confirm his re-election.

In a message issued on behalf of the GFA, President Simeon-Okraku congratulated Mr. Eto’o for the overwhelming votes he secured to continue his mandate. The message described the feat as a “powerful endorsement of his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication.”

He also applauds the transformational impact Eto’o has had on Cameroonian football over the past four years, highlighting his commitment to strengthening structures, enhancing professionalism, and expanding opportunities for young players across the country.

“Your re-election reflects not only the remarkable progress made under your stewardship but also the confidence of the Cameroonian football community in your ability to deliver even greater change in the years ahead,” the GFA President noted.

Mr. Simeon-Okraku reaffirmed the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between the Ghana and Cameroon football federations, expressing optimism about deepening collaboration for the advancement of football across the continent.

“Your continued leadership at FECAFOOT is a significant asset to African football, and we are confident that the next four years will deliver even more groundbreaking achievements,” he stated.
