National Council of Trained Private Teachers (NCTPA) is calling on the government and the Ghana Education Service (GES) to take swift action to ensure that candidates who could not pass the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination( WASSCE) are given the opportunity to sit for immediate remedial examinations.

General Secretary of the NCPTA, Raphael Kofi  Gapson, recommended a support scheme that would channel the affected students into a remedial section, enabling them to write private exams to rebuild their weak subject areas.

“Those student who have been identified if government can have a remedial strategy so that this student can be taken through another system for them to write private exams so that government can support them to cover subjects areas they’ve lost and will be able catch up,” he highlighted.

He stressed that the increasing prevalence of education malpractice in Ghana threatens the integrity and value of the entire education system.

“Education malpractice which has become a significant concern in Ghana undermining the integrity of our education system and compromising the credibility of certificate must today be seen as a National enemy,” he urged speaking on Star FM, monitored by Angelonline on Tuesday ,December 2, 2025.

He further urged stakeholders to promote academic integrity and address the root causes of examination malpractice.
