The Ghana Police Service has assured the general public of safety across the country during the forthcoming Christmas festivities.

He indicated that there will be adequate security measures to ensure that everyone is protected before, during, and after the period.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno gave the assurance and noted that the Service has put in place what he described as “comprehensive security arrangements.”

“As the Christmas festivities approach, be rest assured that a comprehensive security arrangement has been put in place, before, during, and after the festivities.

“We would also like to assure the public that we continue to ensure safety and security on our roads and within our communities to enable everyone going about their duties without any fear,” he stressed.

He further advocated for support to the security services to complement their efforts in making Ghana one of the safest places in Africa.

“We urge you to continue to support us, come on board, share information with the police so that together we will continue to make our beloved country one of the safest places in the South region,” said the IGP at the Police Headquarters on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
