The Ministry of the Interior has ordered a full-scale investigation into claims that the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Kissi Agyebeng, survived two assassination attempts while performing his duties.

The matter came to light when the Director of Strategy, Research, and Communications at the Office of the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Samuel Appiah Darko, disclosed on Joy News on December 6, 2025.

He claimed Mr. Agyebeng had faced assassination attempts and further alleged that he himself had been handcuffed and beaten by 17 police personnel.

According to the Ministry, initial contacts with Mr. Agyebeng revealed that the alleged assassination attempts occurred before this year.

However, there is no record of such threats against his life at any police station or state security agency.

In response, the Minister of the Interior has directed investigations into both the alleged assassination attempts and Mr. Appiah Darko’s claim of assault by police officers.

The Ministry emphasized that “crime does not expire” and assured the public that updates will be provided on the outcome of the investigations and subsequent actions.
