The Fodzoku township in the North Tongu District of Volta Region was on Monday, December 8, 2025, thrown int a state of wild excitement, when legendary musician, Edem, paid an unexpected visit to the community.
The visit by the recording artiste and Entrepreneur came in time as the community prepares to celebrate the annual Gligba festival expected to start on December 22 and climax on December 27, 2025.
During interactions with members of the Fodzoku Traditional Council, the musician, known in private life as Denning Edem Hotor, noted that, Fodzoku is strategically sited for tourism and related businesses.
The ‘Nyedzilo’ singer observed further that Fodzoku’s riverine belt with a unique geographical location, could boost tourism and generate jobs for the youth in the town and adjoining communities.
He urged the chiefs to use their influence to position the town as a tourism destination in order to derive the full benefits to bolster the town’s development.
Manklalo of Fodzoku Traditional Area, Togbe Kwasi Misrobi III who is acting as Paramount Chief in his response, commended Edem for showing business interest in the community.
He assured the musician and his team of the Council’s availability to offer any form of support they require, should they decide to site a business there.

2025 Gligbaza
The Gligba festival is a cherished cultural heritage event that unites the people of Fodzoku in celebrating history, promoting development and strengthening communal bonds.
It draws participants from across Ghana and beyond, making it a prime platform for cultural promotion, tourism and corporate visibility.
The 2025 Gligbaza, scheduled to take place from December 21, to 27, in the Fodzoku with the highlight of the celebration being the grand durbar of the Chiefs and people on December 27.
It is sponsored by the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC, PIWAK Natural Health which manufactures 3P Garlic Mixture; Hotwav Ghana Limited which manufactures and markets Hotwav brand of electronic and home appliances, jonilar.net which is the official media partner among a host of other companies.
The theme for this year’s Gligbaza is ‘Driving Change: Community action for potable water sustainability’.
