Veteran broadcaster with Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), Kwame Adinkrah has graduated with the first-ever Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Visual Communication Design from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The milestone ceremony marks a significant breakthrough for West African visual arts and design education.

Dr. Adinkrah, who previously earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Graphic Design and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Communication Design, expressed profound gratitude to benefactors who supported him throughout his academic journey.

“I am genuinely grateful to everyone who supported me through prayers, mentorship, encouragement and financial support,” he said.

He views his accomplishment not only as a personal triumph but also as a pioneering step for the creative and academic industry in the sub-region, positioning KNUST as a hub for advanced design scholarship.

“I am among the pioneers to earn a PhD in Visual Communication Design at KNUST in Ghana and across West Africa,” he said, highlighting the program’s potential to inspire future generations of designers.

With this achievement, Dr. Adinkrah says he steps forward with renewed purpose, ready to contribute to the growth of visual communication and design scholarship in the region.
