The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has issued a stern warning to the public to desist from sharing sexually explicit videos and images of children on the internet.
The caution follows reports of such content involving Senior High School (SHS) students circulating online.
In an advisory released on Monday, December 15, 2025, the CSA reminded Ghanaians that distributing indecent videos or photographs of children is a criminal offence under the Cyber security Act, 2020 (Act 1038).
Section 62 of the Act explicitly prohibits anyone from taking, producing, publishing, streaming, or possessing an indecent image of a child on any computer system or electronic device, including mobile phones.
Offenders, including individuals, bloggers, or institutions found circulating such explicit material, face imprisonment of 5 to 10 years under the law.
The CSA emphasized that the public must immediately delete any such content received and report the incident to the authority.

The Authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safer digital environment in Ghana and urged collective responsibility in protecting children from online exploitation.
