El-Wak stampede: Saddick Adams demands justice, compensation for bereaved families

The host for the Angel Morning Show (AMS), Saddick Adams, has demanded that the government must compensate the bereaved families of the El-Wak Stadium disaster victims.

His remarks follow the military recruitment stampede tragedy which recently occured at the El-Wak Sports Stadium and claimed the lives of six individuals on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

During the ‘Nyansapo’ segment on the AMS on Monday, December 15, Mr. Adams reiterated that the government’s plan to offer slots to bereaved families is insufficient.

“To be honest, the arrangement made by the government to recruit a member from each bereaved family into the military is honestly not enough.

The government must provide substantial compensation, they must reflect on this matter, this is pure negligence,” he asserted.

He emphasized that recruitment slots should be a bonus for the families, only if they wish to see another member in military attire.

He further said the monies collected from over 12,000 applicants should be used to compensate the families, adding that the individuals who failed to put proper measures in place to prevent such tragedy must be held accountable.

“The government should compensate the bereaved families to provide some consolation; those who committed this atrocity should be punished,” he stressed.

According to Saddick Adams, he sees no reason why the Armed Forces should sell application forms, as their budget is covered by the Defense Ministry, which is responsible for the nation’s security.

He also explained that sometimes, the bereaved mother may not even have another child to replace the one lost.

They should receive compensation instead of allowing others to choose from the family; this would only deepen the sorrow of the bereaved,” he asserted.
