Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has indicated that government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has initiated investigations into the alleged murder of a Ghanaian national in Latvia.

According to the Minister, the Ministry has activated relevant diplomatic channels to establish the facts surrounding the incident and ensure that justice is pursued.

“My attention has been drawn to a heart-wrenching video reporting the killing of a Ghanaian student by name Nana Adjei in Latvia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commenced immediate investigations through relevant diplomatic channels,” he said in a post on his official Facebook wall.

He expressed the government commitment to ensure that no individual harms Ghanaians in foreign countries and goes unpunished.

“It is worth reminding that nobody harms a Ghanaian in any part of the world and gets away with it,” Mr. Ablakwa stated.

He further assured of providing regular updates on the development to enable the public to stay informed.
