Residents of Adansi Wuruyie in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region were left in shock on Sunday, December 21, 2025, when the lifeless body of a man was discovered hanging from a tree in a secluded part of the community.
The deceased, believed to be in his 30s, was found half-naked, with his trousers tied around his neck and fastened to a tree branch.
The unusual circumstances have raised suspicions of possible strangulation although circumstances sorrounding the incident remain scanty.
His identity has not yet been officially confirmed, some residents allege that he had been undergoing spiritual healing at a nearby prayer camp.
Police responded swiftly to the scene and conveyed the body to the New Edubiase Government Hospital morgue for preservation and further investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether foul play was involved.
Efforts are also underway to establish the identity of the deceased and notify his family.
