Police arrest 54 suspects in separate swoop operations in the Bono Region

The Bono Regional Police Command has rounded up fifty-four (54) suspects in a series of swoop operation conducted to clamp down on illegal drug peddlers, users, and robbery criminal hideouts within the region.

This exercise is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug peddlers and users, and rid our communities of these miscreants.

In a separate, targeted, intelligence-led operation embarked upon by the Regional PID team and other personnel aimed at dismantling criminal activities within Abesim, Banda, Nkrankwanta, Odumase, Dumasua, Wenchi, and Dormaa areas.

The suspects are, (1). Rev. Alex Kwaku Manu, aged 36, (2). Adams Moro, aged 32, (3). Kwaku Kyere, aged 40, (4). Ata Opare, aged 20, (5).

Anyane Emmanuel, aged 45, (6). Appiah Shadrach aged 29, (7). Philip Quarcoe, aged 28, (8). Francis Asamoah aged 27 (9). Ahmed Farouk, aged 22, (10). Richard Owusu, aged 35. (11).

Opoku Benedict, aged 19, (12). Kumi Benson, aged 27, (13). Richard Gyabaah, aged 19, (14). Victor Ofosu, aged 29, (15). Yeboah Kelvin aged 18 (16). Mufta Anas aged 27 (17). Romeo Ndai aged 24 (18). Korma Stephen aged 22 (19).

Godfred Nii Sampa aged 20 (20). Kingsford Daplah aged 23 (21). Owusu Kennedy aged 35 (22). Kwabena Damian aged 25 (23). Ansu Bright aged 26 (24). Bright Antwi Nyame aged 35 (25). Anoba Joseph aged 31 (26).

Bismark Korang aged 19 (44). Michael Amogla aged 27 (45). Moses Kwadwo Fosu aged 23 (46). Osei Seth, aged 20 (47) Kwabena Isaac, aged 22 (48). Habib Fuseini, aged 21 (49). Stephen Opoku, aged 19 (50). Moro Osman aged 22 (51).

Benjamin Adane, aged 36 (52). Amos Antwi aged 25 (53). Rockson Owusu aged 23 and (54). Adoma Hadges aged 19.

The substances retrieved from the suspects are, some quantities of tramadol, six pairs of scissors, a green tricycle “pragya”, some wrappers of dried leaves and seeds suspected to be Indian hemp, one small crusher, two boxes of matches, one box of cigarette.

The exhibits has since been retained for evidential purposes.

According to a police statement, suspects were arraigned before the court and have been remanded in Police custody for further investigation.

The statement further assure the public of its preparedness in ensuring crime free festival season and further warns that persons who commit crimes will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
