23‑year‑old man arrested for murder of father in Oti Region

The Police has arrested a 23-year-old Innocent Owusu, in connection with the murder of his father, Peter Owusu (59 years), at their residence in Likpe Abrani, Oti Region.

According to a press release issued by the Regional Headquarters, Dambai, the suspect allegedly killed his father on Monday, December 30, 2025, and fled the scene.

Intelligence led police to apprehend him at a hideout in the Abrani forest.

Authorities recovered the decapitated body and head of the victim, which have been deposited at Hohoe Government Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Innocent Owusu is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.

The Oti Regional Police Command praised the people of Likpe Abrani for their swift assistance in tracking down the suspect.

The police administration has extended condolences to the bereaved family.
