President John Dramani Mahama has called on public servants to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and dedication as Ghana enters a new year.

Speaking at the Jubilee House in his 2026 New Year’s address, on Thursday, January 01, 2026, he said, “Yours is a noble calling Serve with integrity, efficiency, and dedication. The people’s trust in government depends on your daily conduct.”

Addressing Ghanaians in the diaspora, he described them as the country’s global ambassadors, encouraging them to contribute to national growth. “You are Ghana’s global ambambassadors, continue to make us proud.”

Moreover, Mahama stressed that the Ghanaian can bring his skills, resources, and networks back home, Ghana needs you,” he stated.

President Mahama also stressed the need for national unity across political lines, urging Ghanaians to put the country first. “Let us reject the politics of division and embrace the patriotism of nation-building.

“Let us disagree without being disagreeable; Let uscompete in the marketplace of ideas without treating our opponents as enemies,” he said.

He further appealed to various sectors; including the youth, entrepreneurs, business leaders, civil society, media, and traditional authorities to actively contribute to Ghana’s development in 2026, emphasising that the nation’s challenges and opportunities require collective effort.
