The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested four (4) suspected armed robbers in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Kunsu, a suburb of the region on December 7, 2025.

In a press statement on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Godwin Ahianyo, stated that the suspects were arrested on January 21, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. in Kunsu.

The arrest was carried out by the Regional Anti-Robbery Unit and the NOD Surveillance Unit following intelligence-led operations

According to the police, the suspects, Yahaya Siedu alias “Diamond” (34), Atta Israel alias “Abode3 or Stone” (32), Victor Gyan alias “City Boy” (26), and Stanley Wiafe Akanten alias “Figo” (30) are members of a criminal syndicate linked to a series of robberies in Kunsu and nearby communities.

The operation led to the recovery of two pump-action guns, three cutlasses, five mobile phones, twenty-two (22) BB cartridges, and GHS 5,400, with one of the firearms, a Pardus shotgun, confirmed stolen during the robbery incident.

The statement further indicated that the suspects have been charged with conspiring to rob miners of cash,  and gold concentrate.
