Achimota Forest will not be sacrificed for private development – President Mahama

The Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Alexander Twum Barimah (Esq.) has disclosed that Frederick Kumi (Abu Trica), who is alleged to be involved in cyber fraud, had been under surveillance for a long time before his eventual arrest.

According to Mr. Twum Barimah, the arrest was carried out under a court warrant with support from multiple security agencies, noting that the order was delayed however, the suspect had long been on NACOC’s radar.

“The court ordered that we should go to these places, including Swedru and Accra. There was a court order; we didn’t just act, we had him on our radar for a long time.

“He was supposed to be arrested on Monday, but we didn’t get the order. Our men were tracking him until the order came on Wednesday,” he revealed on the Anopa Bofo show on Angel TV/FM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

He further emphasized that in prosecutions, “the burden of proof rests on the security agencies, not the suspect,” which is why we must gather solid evidence before taking action.
